The Museum of Art is located on the top floor of the Culture and Convention Center Lucerne (KKL), directly under its spectacular roof, and was designed by Parisian architect Jean Nouvel. Covering an area of 2100 square meters, the museum has temporary exhibitions displaying significant works of modern art, as well as exhibitions from its own collection, with an emphasis on 19th and 20th century landscape painting and international art from 1960 on. The architectural simplicity of the museum and the sophisticated use of light make every visit a genuine cultural experience. Spectacular views of the inside of the building itself, of the lake and city, may be seen from the bridges that connect two parts of the Museum.
