Do you know what a serpent looks like? Have you ever listened to the sound of a rebec? What is more,
have you ever played a regal?
The Collection of Musical Instruments in
Willisau is the home of about 500 instruments. They come from two different collections. One of these
is the collection Patt, which consists of copies of musical instruments that were used in the Middle
Ages and the Renaissance. The other collection is the collection Schumacher. This collection is made
up of historical instruments. They xould be seen at the Richard Wagner Museum in Lucerne. Since March
2010, they have been part of the exhibition in Willisau.
Special shows,
concerts and courses offer a thorough insight into the making of instruments and their sounds as well.
Of special interest is a guided tour, which lets you explore the instruments and their special sounds.
